— Juniper Stage Botanic Backyard in Raleigh will be open to the general public for two weekends this summer time.

The 28-acre educational, research and display screen back garden will be open up July 15-17 and July 22-24 for self-guided excursions plant purchases and absolutely free gardening walks with gurus. The back garden is dwelling to far more than 27,000 distinctive forms of plants.

Admission is totally free. The garden will be open up from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Avent and his wife Anita gifted the backyard garden to North Carolina Condition College. Tony Avent went to college at N.C. Condition and examined below the late J.C. Raulston in the 1970s.
